No previous experience is required, just an interest in renewable energy/retrofitting and the opportunities it

  • An understanding of opportunities in the renewable energy sector.

What are the opportunities?

  • There is a huge UK Skills gap and a shortage of labour within this sector.

  • Employment opportunities, there are many new and emerging job roles within the retrofit and renewable energy/net zero industries.

  • An awareness of retrofit and how this may impact and reduce your personal reliance on carbon emitting products.

Next steps & further support

The initial one-week awareness course can be followed by progression onto an Introduction to Domestic Retrofit and Green Energy Awareness programme.  From this pathway you could go on to a further course of study, an apprenticeship or transition into one of the many job roles highlighted on the career opportunities map.

Where will I study?

You will study at a UTraining centre based in South Tyneside

How will I be taught?

The course will include a mixture of practical activities and presentations to involve everyone and provide a relevant and engaging learning experience there will be question and answer sessions throughout and the course will draw upon any previous knowledge and experience you may have.

How will I be assessed?

There will be on-going assessment throughout the course. 

What qualification will I get?

You will get a certificate for each of the courses listed above.
